This explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
It is written to be read, not to be impressive.
Who we are
QSNhire (Quick Service Now) is a Nigerian marketplace connecting people to
local vendors. We are the data controller for the information described
here. You can reach us at
support@qsnhire.online.
What we collect
When you create an account
- Your name, email address, phone number and WhatsApp number
- Your state and town
- Your business name, if you are a vendor
- A password, which we store only as a one-way hash and can never read
When you get verified as a vendor
Verification asks for identification documents, a photograph of you and a
photograph of your premises. This is sensitive, so it is worth being precise:
these are used to decide whether to award your verified badge and to
investigate a complaint if one is made about you. They are visible only to
our review team. They are not shown on your public profile, not given to
buyers, and not used for anything else.
When you pay
Payments are handled by Paystack. We never see or store your card
details. What we keep is the amount, the date, a reference and
whether it succeeded. If you request a payout we store the bank name,
account number and account name you gave us, because we need them to pay you.
When you use the site
- Messages you send to other users through QSNhire, and any attachments
- Listings, reviews and job posts you publish
- Conversations with Jayden, our assistant
-
When something breaks, a record of the page, the error, and part of
your network address. We keep only the network, not your exact address,
because the point is to spot a fault rather than follow a person.
What we do with it
- Running your account and showing your listings to buyers
- Passing messages between buyers and vendors
- Taking payment and paying out what you have earned
- Deciding verification, and investigating reports and disputes
- Sending you things you need: password resets, receipts, and alerts about your account
- Sending updates and offers, which you can stop at any time
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not let anyone pay to
have their message put in front of you as though it came from us.
What other people can see
If you are a vendor, your business name, your trade, your town and state,
your listings, your ratings and reviews, and the phone or WhatsApp number
you gave for contact are public. That is the point of a directory, but it
is worth saying plainly: the number you give as your contact number
can be seen by anyone. If you would rather use a separate business
line, use it.
If you are a buyer, other users see the name on your account and anything
you write in a message or a review. Your email address is never shown.
Who we share it with
- Paystack, to take payments
- Our email provider, to deliver email to you
- OpenAI, when you talk to Jayden, so it can answer you
- Anyone we are legally required to share with, such as a court order or a regulator
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, to remember your device so you are not
asked to sign in constantly, to protect forms against misuse, and to
remember an unfinished conversation with Jayden so you do not have to start
again. These are necessary for the site to work. We do not use advertising
cookies and we do not track you across other websites.
How long we keep things
- Your account: for as long as you have one
- Payments and payouts: kept even if you delete your account, because we are required to keep financial records
- Verification documents: kept while your verification is valid
- Unfinished chat details: deleted automatically after three days, or immediately once your account is created
- Error records: up to six months
- Unsubscribe requests: kept permanently, so that opting out stays honoured
Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account. If you have never paid or been paid,
we remove it entirely.
If there are payments or payouts attached to it, we cannot remove the whole
record, because we are required to keep financial records and because
deleting it would break the ledger. What we do instead is strip everything
personal: your name, email, phone, photograph and address are removed, the
account is closed permanently, and what remains is a number in an accounts
record that no longer points at a person.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you can ask us to show you what we
hold about you, correct anything wrong, delete your account as described
above, or stop sending you marketing. Email
support@qsnhire.online and we
will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data
Protection Commission.
Keeping it safe
Passwords are hashed and cannot be read by us or anyone who obtained the
database. The site runs over an encrypted connection. Access to your
information inside our team is limited to the people whose job needs it.
No system is perfectly secure. If something happens that puts your
information at risk, we will tell you and the regulator rather than keep
quiet about it.
Children
QSNhire is not for under 18s. If we learn that an account belongs to a
child, we close it and delete the information.
Changes
If we change this in a way that matters, we will email account holders
rather than quietly change the date at the top.
